THE WORLD OF USED EQUIPMENT EXPLAINED
With a constantly changing inventory of systems coming in and going out, it can be difficult to keep track. Systems are available in a variety of different of manners. Here’s the breakdown on the various stages of equipment availability.
IN d. b. Technology STOCK: This means the unit is completely remanufactured, tested and calibrated. All that remains is entering your facility name into the C-Arm memory and the preparation of FDA FORM 2579. GET PRICING
IN PROCESS: Units in process are in some stage of the remanufacturing process. Generally speaking, it takes about 80 hours to remanufacture a C-Arm so this is a wide timeframe. The availability of parts, if needed, can also add time to the process. GET PRICING
ASSESSMENT: When a unit arrives at our warehouse, our techicians test the unit and assess the costs and feasibility of repair. If a unit’s condition is marginal, it will be allocated to parts and not sold. GET PRICING
EN ROUTE: This is a unit that we have agreed to buy from an end user and that we have picked up. It has not reached the warehouse yet and it’s condition has not been fully accessed. GET PRICING
ON CONTRACT: A unit is purchased via our Sales Agreement and via this agreement we ask for assurances that the unit is in operating condition, it is complete with all its standard accessories and that the operating manuals are available. When all that is satisfied, we enter the agreement and pay a deposit on the unit, eventually agreeing to a mutual time it can be picked up. GET PRICING
AVAILABLE AT LARGE: Units at large are those that our sales and buyer reps have come across in their daily business dealings. A customer may say a unit is available, but then change his/her mind. Therefore, we consider these units at large until a price has been agreed upon and a contract executed.
GET PRICING DEALER UNITS: This is the trickiest category as there are some stocking dealers and many more broker dealers. Broker dealers hear from Dealer A that a unit is available and then try to sell it to Dealer C. Dealer C may try to sell the unit to his/her contacts which sometimes can include Dealer A. It gets confusing and we at d. b. Technology seldom participate in this market area. Also, it is typical for dealers to not BUY a unit unless it is already SOLD. With some enduser sellers working with a few broker dealers, it can often times appear that several systems of a specific model are available, when in fact, there is only one. Lastly, there are the dealers who are selling, say an OEC 9800 but at the same time they’re advertising to buy an OEC 9800. It’s all so confusing to us. Still in all, if you see something in the Dealer section, let us know and we’ll see what if we can get it for you.
PARTS ONLY UNITS: Sometimes it’s not a worthwhile venture to repair a unit for resale. These units we sell as parts only units in whole or as individual parts. If you have an older system and your biomed people are looking for spares, give us a call and a part number and perhaps we can help.
